How to Prepare for Your First Astrology Consultation

Consultations · · 2 min read

A first consultation can feel a little like visiting a new doctor or a new teacher: you are not sure what to bring or what to expect. A little preparation makes the session smoother and far more useful.

Gather your birth details

The chart is built from three facts: your date of birth, your place of birth, and your time of birth.

  • Date and place are usually easy. Use the town or city where you were born, not where you grew up.
  • Time of birth is the detail people worry about. Check your birth certificate, hospital records, or ask a parent. Even an approximate time is helpful, and if you truly do not know it, say so. A good astrologer can still work with the Moon sign, planetary periods and broad themes.

Decide what you want to explore

Write down two or three questions. They might be about work, a relationship, a move, a spiritual practice, or simply "what is this phase of life about?" Specific questions get specific answers. Vague hopes tend to produce general talk.

It also helps to note what you have already tried. Context allows the conversation to go deeper, faster.

Choose the right format

If you want a thorough conversation with the chart shown on screen, choose a video call. If your connection is weak or you prefer privacy, a WhatsApp voice call works well. If you like to reflect slowly, a written report lets you read it several times.

Check your time zone

When you book, make sure the time shown is in your time zone. Our booking page detects it automatically and also shows the astrologer's time in India, so you can double-check.

Set the scene

Find a quiet place where you will not be interrupted. Use headphones if possible. Keep a notebook nearby, because insights often arrive mid-sentence and are easy to forget.

Arrive with an open mind

Honest astrologers do not promise outcomes. A consultation is a structured conversation about patterns and timing, not a prediction machine. Come curious rather than anxious, and be ready to question what you hear.

What happens afterwards

You will usually receive a short written summary and a few gentle suggestions, such as mantra, routine changes or well-timed actions. None of it should feel frightening or expensive. If anything does, ask questions or take time to decide.

A quick checklist

  1. Date, place and (if known) time of birth.
  2. Two or three clear questions.
  3. A quiet space and a stable connection.
  4. A notebook.
  5. Your session time in your own time zone.

That is all you need. The rest is a conversation.
